About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Instructional Graphic Designer to create a reusable library of brand-aligned visual assets for an online learning program. You will develop editable Canva templates, icons, graphics, diagrams, and related visual elements that course developers, instructional designers, and content teams can use across multiple courses.
This is not a traditional marketing design role or a full-course development role. The focus is building a practical, repeatable visual system that helps non-designers create cohesive, learner-friendly content efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Design a reusable library of instructional assets and editable templates in Canva.
- Apply established brand standards, including approved colors, typography, imagery, logo usage, and visual guidelines.
- Create flexible templates that non-designers can easily update and reuse.
- Partner with curriculum, content, and project teams to identify common design needs and opportunities for standardization.
- Develop icons, illustrations, graphics, image treatments, callouts, and visual accents.
- Create course banners, module headers, lesson graphics, worksheets, job aids, learner guides, and workbook templates.
- Design process diagrams, infographics, comparison charts, timelines, concept maps, and other information-design assets.
- Organize templates and assets using a clear naming and file structure that can scale over time.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining brand consistency, usability, and accessibility.
- Apply strong visual hierarchy, readability, and accessibility practices to every deliverable.
What You’ll Deliver
- A clearly organized Canva asset library with reusable icons, graphics, templates, and diagrams.
- Editable master templates for future course development.
- Naming and file-organization standards that support easy maintenance and reuse.
- Basic usage guidance for course development teams.
- A cohesive visual system that supports a consistent learner experience across courses.
What You Bring
- At least two years of professional graphic design experience.
- Advanced Canva proficiency, including template development and Canva Brand Kits.
- Experience designing within established brand guidelines and visual systems.
- A strong portfolio featuring reusable templates, asset libraries, icons, infographics, or information design.
- The ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging, learner-friendly visuals.
- A strong understanding of visual hierarchy, accessibility, readability, and layout.
- The ability to build flexible templates that are easy for non-designers to maintain.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables.
Preferred Experience
- Design work for online learning, training, workforce development, K–12, higher education, professional education, or educational publishing.
- Experience supporting instructional design, curriculum development, or content teams.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and educational content development.
- Experience creating scalable design systems or shared asset libraries.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign.
How to Apply
Please submit the following:
- Your resume.
- A portfolio showcasing relevant design work.
- Examples of reusable template systems, icon libraries, or educational graphics.
- A brief description of your experience creating learning-focused visual assets in Canva and working within established brand guidelines.
- Your availability and preferred hourly or project-based rate.
We welcome designers who combine strong visual judgment with practical systems thinking and a commitment to creating accessible, easy-to-use learning materials.
